130 Ulamas join Bahujan Samaj Party

Lucknow, Jan 30 (PTI) Expressing faith in theleadership of Uttar Pradseh Chief Minister Mayawati, 130Ulamas have joined the Bahujan Samaj Party, its spokesman saidtoday.

"A delegation of Ulamas, led by president of MuslimConvention Maulana Mohd Iqbal Kadri met the cabinet ministerNaseemuddin Siddiqui at his residence this morning," he said.

Expressing faith in policies of the party andprogrammes implemented by the Mayawati government in theinterest of Muslims, they took membership of the party, theBSP spokesman said.

The delegation members informed Siddiqui about theproblems being faced by the Muslim community, especially thoserelated to education.
