Khadi fashion show on Martyrs Day tomorrow

Rajkot, Jan 29 (PTI) In a unique concept to promote Khadiamong youth here, a city-based group has decided to organise aKhadi fashion show here tomorrow on Martyrs Day.

Gujarat Governor Kamla Benniwal will inaugurate the"Khadi Vastra Paridhan Utsav" to be held at the Race Courseground here to pay tributes to Gandhi on his death anniversaryon January 30.

Leading models from Mumbai and other parts of the countrywill be walking the ramp wearing Khadi clothes for itspromotion, said Suresh Parekh, the event co-ordinator.

Union Minister for MSMEs Virbhadra Singh will grace theoccasion while President of Khadi commision Kumudben Joshiwould be the chief guest of the function, Parekh said.

The show has been organised jointly by the Friends Groupand Khadi Commission along with Saurashtra Rachnatmak Samiti,he said. Nearly one thousand school students are scheduled topresent on the occasion.
