Kashmir tiranga yatra: BJP fails, Omar wins
Everyone was curious to know about the ultimate result of the yatra by BJP who had vowed to hoist the national flag at any cost at Srinagar's Lal Chawk on the Republic Day.
But now it seems that BJP leaders failed to fulfill their dream as Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's government succeeded to hinder them (BJP leaders) from entering the state to hoist the tiranga.
Senior BJP leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Ananth Kumar, who has been released on Jan 26 slammed Omar Abdullah for spoiling their plan to hoist tricolour in the state.
"On Republic Day two BJP leaders have been put behind the bars. The government will have to answer on this. We will hoist the flag in Kathua and then hold a press conference in Jammu," stated Swaraj.
While Swaraj confirmed, "Ekata Yatra ends today (Jan 26)", another BJP leader LK Advani stated, "Yesterday's unrest in Jammu and Kashmir reminded me of Dr Mukherjee's sacrifice and our Cabinet ministers brought the existing situation of J&K to light."
In the wake of persisting the peace in the state, Abdullah with the support of UPA government protested BJP from hoisting the flag in Srinagar.
The government blocked the Srinagar highway and haulted the BJP workers at the Punjab-Jammu border. More than 400 workers were arrested on Jan 25. Another worker, who somhow managed to enter the state and tried to hoist the tiranga on Wednesday, was also detained by the police.
