Maoists kidnap five policemen, civilian in Chhattisgarh
Narayanpur, Jan 26 (ANI): Maoists abducted five personnel of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and a civilian from a passenger bus in Narayanpur district on Tuesday.
Among the kidnapped security personnel were three head constables and two constables of the CAF. The officials were in civilian garb, and on their way to Narayanpur.
Prashant Aggarwal, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur, said the Maoists stopped the bus for about one-and-a-half hours.
"At around 10 am near Kungera village, 20-25 armed Maoists with 50-60 members stopped the bus, called the passengers out of the bus and checked their luggage. They were stopped there for around one to one-and-a-half hours," said Aggarwal.
"When they got to know that there are some CRPF personnel in the bus, they kidnapped five CRPF personnel and a civilian and released the bus," he added. (ANI)
