Republic Day: Govt pushes back BJP from Jammu
However, Jammu Kshmir government's "emergency period (1975) kind of action" could not prevent the BJP leaders to pursue their plan to hoist the tiranga in Srinagar's Lal Chawk on the Republic Day on Wednesday, Jan 26.
Despite being arrested, Mrs Swaraj continued informing people about their updates of the move from her Twitter account as she once stated, "If we had our say we will reach Lal Chowk at Srinagar on Jan 26 with large number of people to hoist the national flag."
"We did not come for a Satyagraha. We have come for Tiranga Yatra. Won't give up. Come what may...We will enter JK again," Sushma tweeted from Jammu airport on Jan 24.
BJP already had planned about their next strategy on Tuesday, Jan 25 with the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president Anurag Thakur.
In Delhi, BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad, "We did not want confrontation with the political parties or people of the State. If there was any confrontation at all, it was with the separatists, and between the patriots and the separatists."
The BJP spokesperson also added, "Today the Government of India is standing with the separatists (by opposing the Yatra)."
