Sugar declines on weak demand

Mumbai, Jan 21 (PTI) Sugar prices declined at the Vashiwholesale market here today owing to subdued demand fromstockists and retailers coupled with good stock positions.

Small sugar quality (S-30) dipped by Rs 20/21 per quintalto Rs 2,830/2,871 from Thursday''s closing level of Rs 2,851/2,891.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) also fell by Rs 10/20 perquintal to Rs 2,876/2,931 as against Rs 2,886/2,951 yesterday.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,830/2,871 (Rs 2,851/2,891) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,876/2,931(Rs 2,886/2,951).
