Railway superintendent booked for raping girl

Dehradun, Jan 21 (PTI) A 50-year-old railwaysuperintendent allegedly raped a teenaged girl at Motichurarea of Haridwar, police today said.

Rajpal Meena posted at Motichur railway station,allegedly raped the 18-year-old on January 18 when his wifehad gone to Jammu, according to an FIR lodged by the father ofvictim.

The girl''s father, who also works as a gangman in therailways, said that Meena called his daughter to his home forsome work and then allegedly raped her. Meena also threatenedto kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

Police have registered a case under section 376 of IPCagainst Meena. He, however, is absconding since the mattercame to light yesterday.

Meanwhile, the girl has been sent for a medicalexamination.
