Nickel and zinc recover on fresh demand

Mumbai, Jan 21 (PTI) Nickel and zinc prices recoveredin an otherwise subdued non-ferrous metal market here today onfresh stockists demand amidst better offtake from alloy andconsumer industries.

Meanwhile, tin, copper, and brass declined on lowerindustrial demand.

Nickel prices spurted by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,250from yesterday''s closing level of Rs 1,250 and zinc edged upby Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 133 as against Rs 131 previously.

However, tin dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,420 fromovernight closing level of Rs 1,430.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and brass utensilsscrap fell by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 440, Rs 429 and Rs 300.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wirebar and brass sheet cutting all moved down by Rs 3 per kg eachto Rs 449, Rs 403, Rs 477 and Rs 310, respectively.

Copper sheet cutting eased by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 425. PTIPAK EDM
