Woman arrested in shop lifting cases
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) A guest house owner, allegedlyinvolved in a series of shop lifting cases, was arrested insouth Delhi after she targeted a shop for the second time in afortnight, police said today.
Sunita Sharma (42) was arrested from her Daryaganjresidence yesterday after she left a small purse with somemoney and small slip having details of another woman whileescaping from a Sarojini Nagar shop four days ago.
She was caught on CCTV while lifting a DVD player from ashop in the market on December 29 last year and on January 15,she again went to the same shop where she was recognised bythe shopkeeper.
"Then the shopkeeper and others chased her but she gave aslip and escaped, leaving behind a small purse with some moneyand a small slip with the name, address and mobile number of awoman," a senior police official said.
During investigations, Sharma, who owns a guest house inFatehpuri, was identified and arrested. She was previouslyarrested in some theft cases.
