USAID favours Sulabh model of sanitation for Pakistan

New Delhi, Jan 18 (PTI) The USAID, a key body of theUnited States providing economic and humanitarian assistanceworldwide, has recommended Sulabh model of low-cost sanitationfor Pakistan.

Pakistan-based senior officer of the USAID, Marilyn Wyatt,who visited the Sulabh International campus here today,appreciated the efforts of the NGO headed by Bindeshwar Pathakin promoting low-cost sanitation not only in India, but alsoin cities across south and central Asia.

Wyatt, who is wife of US Ambassador to Pakistan CameronMunter, said government and non-government bodies in Pakistanshould use Sulabh technology to deal with sanitation problemsin that country, the NGO said in a release.

Pathak assured her that Sulabh would take all possiblesteps to ensure proper sanitation in Pakistan.
