UP employees unions form joint committee on promotion issue
Lucknow, Jan 17 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh government employees''unions have formed a joint committee to ensure implementationof the Allahabad High Court order ending quota in promotionsin state government departments.
The committee, ''Sarvjan Hitaiy Sanrakshan Samiti'', hasbeen named after Chief Minister Mayawati''s policy of ''SarvjanHitaiy" (welfare of all).
On Jaunary 4, the Lucknow Bench of the High Court hadquashed the UP government''s order effecting consequentialseniority in all departments following which junior dalitofficials in large numbers have been promoted on senior postson which promotions of general category employees were due.
The committee to be headed by senior power engineerShailendra Dubey has urged the government to remove all dalitofficials from the posts that were initially meant for generalcategory.
