TRS meeting to discuss strategies for Telangana tomorrow
Hyderabad, Jan 17 (PTI) Against the backdrop of thesubmission of report by the Srikrishna committee, the TRSstate executive would meet here tomorrow to discuss ways tostep up the ongoing separate Telangana agitation.
The meeting assumes significance as the party had earliersaid it would intensify the stir after about three weeks sincethe submission of report by Srikrishna committee to theCentre.
Former TRS MP B Vinod Kumar had recently said that partypresident K Chandrasekhar Rao has given about three-four weekstime to the Centre to study the Srikrishna committee reportand that he would step up the agitation soon.
He had made the statement when asked why Rao wasmaintaining silence after the Srikrishna committee submittedits report.
Rao had earlier announced that a "non-cooperationmovement" would be launched in February by involving membersof Telangana non-gazetted officers association, which is avocal supporter of the statehood demand.
The Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC),that comprises TRS, BJP and various people''s organisations,has been conducting protests'' to press the demand forintroduction of Telangana bill in the Budget session ofParliament.
The JAC leaders have held various protests including roadblockades, ''Gandhigiri'' to urge the political leaders to helpin formation of Telangana state to press their demand.
The TRS state executive may also discuss ways tostrengthen the party organisation in Telangana.
