Police official''s mother killed during burglary

Ghaziabad, Jan 18 (PTI) The mother of a Sub-Inspector ofPolice posted here died after she was attacked by a gang ofrobbers in Meerut, officials said today.

The victim, Rajbiri, mother of Sub-Inspector SushmaChaudhry, was allegedly killed by a gang of robbers who brokeinto their house in Lal Kuti area in Meerut last night, theysaid.

Chaudhry said that burglars attacked her mother withsharp weapons when she resisted their attempt to stealvaluables from their house.

She was taken to the hospital where she succumbed toinjuries, the officials said, adding that investigation intothe matter was on.
