Journalist warns of plot to kill Venezuelan President
Caracas, Jan 18 (Prensa Latina) The threat of plans toassassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is still latent,journalist Jose Vicente Rangel stated.
On his Sunday program, broadcast by Venezolana deTelevision, Rangel said the possibility is an option for onepart of the radical opposition that seeks to end theBolivarian process.
Rangel referred to the constant subliminal messages usedby social networks, the exploitation of the alleged closure ofa television channel, and statements by Venezuelan right-wingrepresentatives abroad.
Such threats against the head of state are the basis forthe theories of assassination is a high-risk possibility, eventhough Chavez'' opponents publicly refute them, Rangel noted.
On this issue, Rangel noted the ability of the oppositionto hire assassins to execute their conspiracies.
He said groups linked to the military, especially retiredofficials who were important during the Fourth Republic, aretrying to link Venezuelan opposition forces with the nationalarmed forces. (Prensa Latina)
