Issues raised by court will be included in Sabari probe: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 17 (PTI) Kerala Chief MinisterV S Achuthanandan today said the issue of lack of coordinationamong government departments raised by Kerala High Court incontext of the Sabarimala stampede will be brought within theambit of the judicial probe into the tragedy.
"All these issues will be included in the ambit ofjudicial probe and the guilty will not be spared," he saidwhen reporters sought his reaction to the strong observationsmade by the division bench of the high court.
In a suo moto reference, the division bench comprisingjustices Thottahthil Radhakrishnan and P S Gopinathan observedthat there had been lack of coordination among variousdepartments in arrangements to regulate flow of pilgrims atSabarimala.
The court also asked the police, the forest departmentand the Travancore Devaswom Board (which manages the shrine atSabarimala) to submit a detailed report on the causes that ledto the stampede before January 20.
The Kerala government had earlier announced itsdecision to conduct a judicial probe into the tragedy whichclaimed 102 lives last Friday. The chief minister had alsosaid the services of a sitting judge would be sought forconducting the inquiry.
