IFFCO chairman killed as his pistol goes off accidentally
Ferozepur, Jan 17 (PTI) Surinder Kumar Jakhar, IFFCOchairman and son of former Madhya Pradesh Governor BalramJakhar, was killed today when his pistol went off accidentallywhile he was cleaning it at his farmhouse at Abhor in Ferozpurdistrict of Punjab.
Fiftysix-year-old Jakhar was fatally wounded whilecleaning his pistol, SP (Headquarters) Ferozpur Surjit Singhtold PTI.
Investigations showed the pistol went off accidentallyat his farmhouse, some 125-km from here, and there was no foulplay, he said.
Surinder Jakhar''s family, in a statement to the police,said he was killed in an accidental fire from his pistol athis farmhouse in Maujgarh village, SP (Abohar) Varinder Brarsaid.
The family had requested the police that it did notwant any action in the matter as the death was accidental, hesaid.
The bullet had hit Surinder on his temple.
