Gadkari to lead nine-member BJP delegation to China
Hyderbad, Jan 17 (PTI) A nine-member BJP delegationled by party President Nitin Gadkari would leave for China ona five-day tour from January 20, its national secretary Dr KLaxman, said here today.
Laxman, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, is a member of thedelegation and the only South Indian office bearer of the BJP.
This would be the first ever BJP delegation led by itsNational President, visiting China on the invitation of theCentral Committee of Communist Party of China, Laxman toldreporters here.
Besides visiting New Energy Research Institute atGuangzhou and New Bamboo and Agricultural ProcessingInstitutes, the delegation would conduct a field study of newenergy development and recycle projects in the rural areas ofChina, he said.
The BJP leader said since terrorism has become a globalphenomenon, the delegation would discuss the need to combatterror unitedly and would like to impress upon the Communistparty leadership of the imperative, and isolating thosenations which covertly support terror.
"In addition to forging a new alliance based onunderstanding and reciprocity between the two countries, thetour has multi-disciplinary focus and aims at studying variousdevelopmental modules in China," he said.
Laxman said he is particularly keen on study of ''ShanghaiCity Planning''. He wants to study and understand theinfrastructural facilities such as traffic and transportsystem in the city and their management so that some of themcould be suggested for the city of Hyderabad.
