Education: no central rule to be followed in Tripura this year
Agartala, Jan 18 (PTI) Tripura government would notexecute the Central Government''s guidelines for admission inschools as per the Right to Education Act this year as thestate is yet to enact laws.
Principal Secretary for School Education BanamaliSinha said the state cabinet would have to pass a law forimplementing the Right to Education Act, otherwise the centralguidelines could not be implemented.
He said, the students would be admitted according tothe choice of the guardians this year.
According to the central guidelines, there would notbe any admission test and students would get admission toschools falling within one km of residence.
State Education Minister Tapan Chakraorty earlier saidthat the central guidelines would be followed in Tripura. PTIJOY NN
