Conference to boost NRI investment in Punjab

Jalandhar, Jan 17 (PTI) With an aim to increaseinvestment of NRIs in grass-root development in Punjab, aconference has been organised by the government here, startingtomorrow.

"The main objective of this conference is to increasethe investment of NRIs in the developmental projects of thestate specially in health and education sector," Vikas Pratap,Commissioner NRI Affairs, told PTI.

The conference, to be held tomorrow, will also beattended by Deputy CM of Punjab Sukhbir Badal.

"The state government would inform them about it''sdevelopmental achievements including infrastructural growthalong with assuring the NRIs about a conductive environmentfor investment in the state," he said.

Education, hospitality, health and power sector amongother areas in the state have a lot of scope for investment,he added.

The NRIs will be educated about these achievements, soas to enable them to keep a track of their investments fromtheir respective countries, the official added.
