Canara HSBC OBC insurance co appoints John Holden as CEO

Mumbai, Jan 18 (PTI) Canara HSBC Oriental Bank ofCommerce Life Insurance Company, today announced theappointment of John Holden as its Chief Executive Officer.

Holden succeeds Harpal Karlcut who launched the company''sbusiness but now has moved back to HSBC Insurance on anoverseas assignment, a press release issued here stated.

The life insurer is a joint venture between Canara Bank,Oriental Bank of Commerce and HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific)Holdings Limited.

Holden is an internationally experienced executive whohas worked with HSBC for over 26-years in banking, marketingand insurance, spending the majority of his career in thegroup''s life, pensions and investment businesses, supportingretail, commercial and private banking propositions.

He has spent the last 13-years in Korea, Taiwan, Malaysiaand the Middle-East and has been instrumental in creatingextremely successful bancassurance distribution partnerships,the release said.
