BSP expels IAS officer''s daughter for pressurising officers
Lucknow, Jan 18 (PTI) BSP today expelled Disha Chamber,Vice Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance andDevelopment Corporation (SCFDC) and the daughter of a seniorIAS officer, on charges of putting undue pressure ofgovernment officers to get her personal work done.
"The decision to expel Chamber from the party and alsofrom the post of Vice Chairman of SCFDC was taken by BSP statepresident last night after charges of pressuring officersagainst her were found to be true," BSP zonal coordinator andMP Jugal Kishore said in a statement released here today.
Disha, the daughter of senior IAS officer and PrincipalSecretary, Food and Civil Supplies, J N Chamber joined BSP in2009.
"She was given due security and made Vice Chairman ofSCFDC but there were complaints against her that she put unduepressure of officers for getting her works done. She also tookbenefit of her father''s name for the job and she did not havecoordination with party workers," Kishore said.
He said while Disha was initially given the task to workfor the party in Hardoi, she was shifted to Raebareli aftercomplaints were received against her.
"Finding all the allegations of party workers againstDisha to be true, the party decided to expel her," Kishoresaid.
Before joining BSP, 25-year-old Chamber had joined theYouth Congress in 2008 through Rahul Gandhi''s talent searchprogramme.
Her IAS father is considered close to Chief MinisterMayawati and had been her Principal Secretary twice and alsoheld the post of principal secretary, Home.
When asked about her expulsion, sources close to Dishasaid she had resigned from BSP and the post of Vice Chairmanof SCFDC herself as she was uncomfortable in the party. PTIABN PG
