Accused wants to become approver in murder case, court says no

Muzaffarnagar, Jan 18 (PTI) In a new twist to themurder case of wife of a senior BJP leader, one of the accusedhas expressed his wish to turn an approver, police said today.

Police said that Lalan, an accused in the murder ofRevati Singh (75), wife of Hukum Singh, in July last year,sought pardon from the court and requested it to grant himpermission to appear as an approver.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Suresh Chand Arya, however,rejected his plea, police said.

The accused had filed a petition in the court fordisclosure of some facts in connection with the case which,he said, was not being investigated by the police.

The charge sheet against seven accused, includingLalan, has already been filed in the court.
