Punjab to beautify Golden Temple entrance

Chandigarh, Jan 17 (PTI) Punjab Government has approvedthe plan to construct a state-of-art plaza at entrance of thefamous Golden Temple in Amritsar.

At a meeting yesterday, Chief Minister Parkash SinghBadal asked Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs GeetikaKalha to closely monitor the Golden Temple Entrance Plazaproject right from its stage of conception to completion, anofficial said.

Kalha informed the Chief Minister that a redesign andrefurbishment of the public space available in front of mainentrance of Golden Temple Complex has been proposed, he said.

The new entrance would take care of various aspects,including accessibility for pedestrians, visibility to enhancethe glory of the facade, eco sustainability etc. Thecompletion schedule and the total cost to be incurred are yetto be worked.
