J&K Police to organize cultural events to de-stress personnel

Jammu, Jan 16 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Police willorganize a series of cultural events for the entertainment ofits personnel and their families to ease the stress caused tothem by tough duty schedule, a senior official said heretoday.

"Police will organize a series of cultural events for theentertainment of its personnel and their families to easetheir stress caused due to tough duty schedule," DirectorGeneral of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda today said whileaddressing audience at a police function.

The function, organised by SaMaPa Aalap festival - 2011,sponsored by Sopoori Academy of Music and performing artshere, was first in the proposed series of functions beingorganized by the police for its officers, jawans and theirfamilies, Khoda said.

Pandit Bhajan Soopori and Abhay Rushtam Sopori presenteda scintillating santoor duet recital accompanied by UstadRefiddin Sabri on the tabla at the police auditorium here thisevening.

They made the audience sing various expressions of theragas that they presented and other sufiana items.

Khoda said that besides performing their assigned dutiesof maintaining peace and law and order, the state policepersonnel have been enduring to promote sports activities andhave achieved many distinctions in the arena.

The state police will also take initiatives fororganising the culture events both in Srinagar and Jammu,Khoda said.
