HC urged for a CBI enquiry into Bihar MLA murder

Patna, Jan 17 (PTI) Seeking a CBI enquiry into therecent murder of BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari, a petition wastoday filed in the Patna High Court by the mother of RupamPathak who had allegedly stabbed the legislator to death onJanuary four last.

In her petition, Kumud Mishra also urged the court tobring into CBI probe ambit the case in which Pathak hadcharged the slain MLA and his associate Bipin Rai with rapingher before the murder.

Mishra prayed to the court that only the CBI couldinvestigate impartially and thoroughly as some powerfulpeople, including politicians, were trying to influence theinvestigation being carried out by the Bihar police.

The court was urged to issue direction for a CBIenquiry into the complaints lodged at Kajanchihat policestation in Purnia district by Pathak on May 28, 2010 undersection 376 of the IPC against Keshari and Rai as well as themurder case lodged against Pathak on January 4, 2011, it said.

Pathak''s mother further urged the high court todirect the Bihar police to lodge a case against those personsresponsible for assaulting Pathak after the death of the MLAon January 4 last.

Mishra also prayed that the respondents be directed tounlock Pathak''s house and permit the family members to use thesame freely.

The DGP, Bihar police, CBI Director and SP, Purnia,were made respondents to the petition.
