BJP to stage protests in Andhra against hike in petrol prices

Hyderabad, Jan 16 (PTI) BJP Andhra Pradesh unit hasdecided to organise sit-ins across the state tomorrow toprotest hike in the petrol prices.

Terming the hike as the worst gift to the people on theoccasion of Sankranthi'' festival, former Union Minister andBJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya said the party would holdprotests in all the districts tomorrow.

This was the seventh hike in petrol prices in the lastsix months by UPA government, he said, adding that this was arecord of sorts.

Dattatreya said the common man was already suffering withprices of essential commodities sky-rocketing, and the hike infuel prices would have a cascading impact, leading to furtherincrease in inflation.

The BJP leader appealed to the Prime Minister to rollback the hike.
