Underpass inaugurated

New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) An underpass for movement ofvehicles from Safdarjung Railway Station to North Moti Baghwas inaugurated today.

Inaugurating the underpass, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshittoday said her government is committed to further improve thetransport infrastructure in the national capital.

People coming from Ring road and Rao Tula Ram Marg canuse the underpass to reach directly to Safdarjung RailwayStation without taking a long detour and U-turn on ShantiPath.

The underpass at Shanti Path has been constructed at acost of Rs 12.33 crore within a year.

Dikshit instructed putting up of proper signages atall appropriate places near the underpass.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated two electric substations in NDMC area.

NDMC has commissioned new electric sub-stations of 33KV and 66 KV capacities at Raja Bazar and Dr Bishambar DassMarg as part of enhancing the power distribution network.

The Raja Bazar sub-station has been built at a cost ofRs 10.11 crore and the sub-station at Dr Bishambar Dass Margat a cost of Rs 16.75 crore.

Rainwater harvesting systems have been installed inboth sub-stations.
