Patna AIIMS may become functional by April 2012
Patna, Jan 14 (PTI) The All India Institute of MedicalSciences (AIIMS) in Patna may become functional by April 2012,Bihar Health Minister Ashwani Chaube said today.
"The Centre has assured us that the construction of theAIIMS at Patna, comprising medical collage and hospital, willbe completed by this year and at least the hospital may becomefunctional by April 2012," he told reporters here.
Chaube blamed the UPA government for delay in release offunds in recent years that led to the extension of deadlinefor completion of buildings of the AIIMS.
Now, the problems have been sorted out and Union HealthMinister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said the Centre would do itsbest to ensure that the project was completed in time, hesaid.
