Gadkari expresses shock over Sabarimala temple tragedy

New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) BJP President Nitin Gadkaritoday expressed deep shock and dismay over the Sabarimalatemple accident and appealed to the Prime Minister to convenea meeting of Chief Ministers of southern states to devise anintitutional mechanism for the safety of pilgrims.

"Nitin Gadkari has expressed his deep shock and dismayat the loss of lives in an unfortunate accident at the holytemple shrine of Sabarimala in Kerala and in the resultantstampede. He has conveyed his condolences to the bereavedfamilies which have lost their near and dear ones in thetragedy," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.

He also exhorted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to takethe initiative of calling a meeting of the chief ministers ofthe five southern states of Kerala, Tamilnadu, Pondicherry,Andhra Pradesh
