Fake currency seized, one arrested
Srinagar, Jan 14 (PTI) One person has been arrested inBaramulla district here and fake currency with a face value ofRs 42,000 has been recovered from him, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the accused at acheckpoint near Babateng on National Highway 1A in Baramulladistrict, they said.
The arrested person has been identified as GhulamMohammad Mir of Dharpora village in Kupwara district.
"During search, 21 fake currency notes in thedenomination of Rs 1,000 and 42 fake currency notes of 500denomination were recovered from him," they said.
The spokesman said a case has been registered against Mirand further investigations are on.
