Communal clash, arson in Gujarat taluka
Dahod (Guj), Jan 14 (PTI) A communal clash broke out inDevgarh Baria taluka today as members of two communitieshurled stones at each other and three shops were set on fire,the police said.
The incident took place near Tower area of DevgarhBaria town where members of two communities came out on thestreets and pelted stones at each other, they said.
According to the police, three shops and anautorickshaw were set on fire by the mob. Three persons wereinjured in stone-pelting.
Police used batons to disperse the violent crowd.
Security was stepped up in the sensitive area andadditional forces were deployed to maintain law and order. Oneunit of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) has also been kepton stand-by, they said.
Both the groups have registered cross complaints, thepolice said.
