All faith prayer held in memory of Chief Minister''s mother
Patna, Jan 14 (PTI) An all faith prayer was today heldat Chief Minister Nitish Kumar''s official residence here inmemory of his mother Parmeshwari Devi.
Priests belonging to different religions recitedprayers for peace of his mother''s soul.
Besides the chief minister, JD(U) national presidentSharad Yadav, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Om PrakashChautala, BJP leaders Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, SyedShahanwaz Hussain, Ravi Shankar Prasad and dissident JD(U) MPRajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh were among prominentpeople present at the prayer.
Kumar''s ministerial colleagues, MPs and MLAs of theNDA and others attended the prayer.
A minute''s silence was also observed on the occasion.
The chief minister was visibly emotional at the end ofthe prayer and he was seen wiping tears.
The ruling Janata Dal (U) had earlier organised an allfaith prayer at the party headquarters here and elsewhere inthe state to condole the death of Kumar''s 92-year-old motherParmeshwari Devi who passed away on January one.
