Agitation over removal of Gandhiji''s photo

Muzaffarnagar, Jan 15 (PTI) RLD has strongly objected toreplacing photographs of Mahatma Gandhi and former PrimeMinister Charan Singh with those of Chief Minister Mayawatiand BSP founder Kanshi Ram in a panchayat meeting hall here.

RLD supporters led by state president R D Malik, secretaryRajeshwar Tyagi and former district panchayat chairman TrispalMalik staged a dharna outside the District Magistrate''s officehere yesterday.

The photos Mayawati and Kanshi Ram were noticed in thehall during the swearing in of the newly elected districtpanchayat chairman.

BSP MLA Shahnawaz Rana''s wife Intakhab Rana was recentlyelected panchayat chairman.
