13 killed as bus falls into river
Varanasi, Jan 15 (PTI) Thirteen people were todaykilled and eight others injured when a bus fell into a rivernear Kalikadham village here, police said.
The bus carrying 21 passengers plunged into the Varunariver after hitting the railing along the river, DistrictCollector Ravindra said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has announced anex-gratia of Rs one lakh to the kin of each of those killed.
She also announced free treatment for the injured inthe mishap.
All the injured have been admitted to a hospital. PTICORR
