Naxals should trust democratic system, says Advani

Pune, Jan 14 (PTI) Senior BJP leader L K Advani todaysaid that the naxalite threat in the country was not offoreign origin, but a "home problem", and naxals should trustthe democratic system.

"It is a home problem. They (naxals) should haveconfidence in the democratic system", he said adding that thenaxal elements should be persuaded to shun the path ofviolence.

After addressing a students'' parliament'', organised byMaharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) here, Advani brieflyinteracted with the delegates.

To a query, he said the issue of illegal immigrants,mainly from Bangladesh, had a bearing on the nationalsecurity, and government should take steps to deal with it.

"Bangladesh was created with India''s support. We will notaccept illegal immigration from that country", he said. PTIHBJ KRK
