Medium sugar edges up on retail demand

Mumbai, Jan 14 (PTI) Medium sugar prices edged up furtherat the Vashi Wholesale market here today on increased retaildemand.

While, small sugar variety witnessed a mixed pattern oftrading due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) moved up by Rs 5 per quintalto Rs 2,916/2,991 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,911/2,991.

Small sugar quality (S-30) were quoted at Rs 2,881/2,936per quintal as compared to Rs 2,891/2,931 yesterday.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,881/2,936 (Rs 2,891/2,931) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,916/2,991(Rs 2,911/2,991).
