Industrial oil surges on robust demand

Mumbai, Jan 14 (PTI) Castorseed Bold and castoroilcommercial continue to surge at the oils and oilseeds markethere today on peristant demand from shippers and soapmanufacturing units.

While, edible oils held steady due to lack of buyingsupport.

Castorseeds futures in an highly speculative tradingedged up further on better export orders.

In non-edible section, Castorseed bold spurted by Rs 60per 100 kg to Rs 4,750 from Thursday''s closing level of Rs4,690 and castoroil commercial firmed up by Rs 12 per 10 kg toRs 980 as against Rs 968 previously. Linseed oil continued torule steady at Rs 700 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures section, castorseeds for Marchdelivery opened lower at Rs 3,870 and strengthened further toRs 3,891 before settling at Rs 3,884 per tonne as against Rs3,882 yesterday, showing a mere gain of Rs 2 per tonne.

However, Groundnutoil and refined palmolein both endedstable at Rs 760 and Rs 578 per 10 kgs respectively.
