Darbari gets bail in CWG scam
New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Friday granted bail to former Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organising Committee (OC) official T S Darbari on the grounds that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not file any chargesheet against him.
The High Court also said that the CBI has not submitted enough evidence to nail him and hence granted him bail.
The move from the court comes a day after the CBI found that Darbari and another accused Sanjay Mohindroo had a fallout at the residence of Ashish Patel - the owner of A M Films and A M Cars - in London.
Darbari, a close aide of OC chief Suresh Kalmadi, was arrested by CBI on November 15, over his alleged role into the financial irregularities case pertaining to the 2010 Games.
He had facing charges of causing losses to the exchequer in award of contract to the tune of over Rs 1.55 crore with regard to Queen's Baton Relay function in London on October 29, 2010, before the sporting extravaganza.
The case against him has been registered under different Sections of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act. (ANI)
