VAT increased on motor parts

Ranchi, Jan 12 (PTI) Jharkhand has increased VAT onsome motor parts from four per cent to 12.5 per cent andimposed four per cent on towels, blanket, kerchief andnapkins.

Barring engine and chesis, VAT has been increased onsome other motor parts, Cabinet Secretary A P Singh toldnewsmen here.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired byChief Minister Arjun Munda.

Earlier, there was no VAT on towels, blankets,kerchief and napkins.

The increase would give the state exchequer anadditional revenue of Rs 102 crore, he added.
