+Property Tax Board+ in Bihar

Patna, Jan 13 (PTI) Nitish Kumar government today decidedto constitute +Property Tax Board+ in Bihar soon.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high-levelmeeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

State Urban Development minister Prem Kumar, UrbanDevelopment Principal secretary Girish Shankar, SpecialSecretary D K Shukla and Bihar State Housing Board ManagingDirector Anupam Kumar Suman also attended the meeting.

The meeting decided to set up the Board soon for fixationof taxes on properties as also other resolve other relatedissues, official sources said.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to visitother states and undertake comparative study theimplementation of the tax fixation systems to have similartype of arrangements in Bihar.

Modi said the process of fixation of property tax wouldbe +completely transparent, simple and impartial.+

It was also decided to give concession to those who wouldpay the holding tax in toto in one go.

Modi asked the officials to speed up realisation ofholding taxes.
