MCD seals three shops, an NGO office

New Delhi, Jan 12 (PTI) Three shops and the office ofan NGO were sealed by the MCD in south Delhi today for allegednon-payment of conversion charges within the stipulatedtime-frame.

The building department of Central Zone carried outthe sealing drive on notified roads in Lajpat Nagar area.

It is mandatory for those running commercial units onroads notified as commercial or mixed-land use to pay annualconversion charges to the MCD.

"Two jewellery shops, a medical shop, and an NGOoffice were sealed by us for not paying conversion charges,"an MCD official said.
