MCD gets traffic police NoC for 60 parking sites

New Delhi, Jan 12 (PTI) In some good news for Delhiitesstruggling with parking problems, the MCD has got clearancefor about 60 new parking sites in the city from the TrafficPolice.

The parking lots, when constructed, will create space ofadditional 6,000 cars.

The corporation had identified 200 parking sites and sentthem to the Delhi Traffic Police for clearance.

Officials said 35 of these have been given a go-ahead. Inaddition, 25 sites have also been given approval.

According to the civic body, the Lt Governor has alsogiven directions that till more multi-level undergroundparking complexes in the city are made operational, the numberof surface parking lots should be increased.
