Hyderabad institute wins award

Hyderabad, Jan 12 (PTI) The city-based NationalInstitute of Rural Development (NIRD) has bagged SpecialRecognition award for introducing innovative products.

The city NIRD was selected for the honour forintroducing innovative products, especially those needed forcost-effective housing, a release said here today.

The award was presented at the 98th Indian ScienceCongress held at Chennai last week.

NIRD had put up three stalls showcasing technologiesand geometrics applications for rural development. Eminentdignitaries like agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan visitedthe stalls and expressed appreciation for NIRD, it said.

Over 150 organisations of national and internationalreputation participated in the exhibition at the meet.
