Gzb court PF scam: CBI seeks arrest warrant of 6 retd judges

Ghaziabad, Jan 13 (PTI) The CBI, investigating theinfamous Ghaziabad court Provident Fund scam, today filed aplea in a special court seeking arrest warrant of six retiredjudges accused in the case.

However, due to the two-day strike of lawyers thedisposal of the case did not happen and special CBI courtJudge AK Singh fixed January 31 as the next date of hearing.

Rejecting the plea of the accused seeking exemption frombeing physically present in the court, the judge ordered allof them to appear in person during the proceedings.

On December 22 last year, the CBI court had issued summonto 70 people, including the six retired judges and threeformer judges of Allahabad high court, in the case pertainingto the alleged fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 7 crore from the PFof Class III and IV employees of Ghaziabad District court.

CBI had filed a charge sheet against 77 people in thecase.
