DAV PG College gets ''A'' grade from NAAC

Varanasi, Jan 13 (PTI) DAV PG College in the city hasbecome the only institution in Uttar Pradesh to be given topGrade ''A'' certification by University Grants Commission''sNational Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college, affiliated to Banaras Hindu University,is among the seven colleges across the country to be givenGrade A this year, college Principal Satyadev Singh todaysaid.

The college was ranked at fifth position with 3.08cumulative grade point average (CGPA) score.

A three-member NAAC team headed by KanyakumariUniversity Vice Chancellor S Subramaniam had visited thecampus on September 29 and 30 for a spot verificationfollowing which they had submitted their report.

The team of NAAC in its report appreciated theemployment-oriented courses started by the college, besidesnew syllabus of computer education for the students.

A total of 72 institutions across the country wereevaluated.

Of the 20 institutions evaluated in Uttar Pradesh, itis the only college to get Grade A.
