CIC calls Prez PIO for appeal hearing on RTI plea

Faizabad, Jan 12 (PTI) The Central Information Commissionhas called the PIO of the President''s Secretariat for ahearing on the plea of an RTI applicant who claimed that hewas not given full and proper information about pending mercypetitions of death row convicts.

The hearing will be held on January 19.

City-based RTI activist Shiv Kumar Faizabadi had soughtinformation on the mercy petitions pending before thePresident of India on January 1, 2010.

He moved the CIC contending that he did not get full andproper answer from the President''s Secretariat.
