China needles India, issues stapled visa

Few months ago China had also done this to some people from Jammu and Kashmir.China is trying to consolidate its claim on Arunachal Pradesh and issuing stapled visas to the people of Arunachal Pradesh is seen as another attempt by the dragon to pinch India on the long-standing border dispute.
India considers the Chinese Paper visas issued to its citizens as invalid and had taken up the matter with the Wen Jiabao, the Chinese premier when he visited New Delhi in Dec 2010. Wen had then assured of a discussion on the matter and emphasised that China will take India's concerns seriously.
The two people who were issued the stapled Visas are Abraham K Techi, Indian Weightlifting Federation's Joint Secretary and another weight-lifter who were going to Beijing on the invitation of Chinese Weightlifting Association president Menguang for the January 15-17 China Weightlifting Grand Prix.
A few years ago China had denied visa to Ganesh Koyu, a senior IAS officer from Arunachal Pradesh who was a member of a 107 strong IAS officers' delegation to China.
