Canadian MP for mass movement against female foeticide

Phagwara, Jan 13 (PTI) Canadian MP Sukh Dhaliwal todaysaid it there should be a mass movement against femalefoeticide.

"The birth of girl child should be celebrated as Lohriand daughters should be treated at par with sons," the MP fromNewton-North Delta said at a Lohri function at Sapror villagehere.

He said women are nation builders and constituted 50 percent of the world population.

"Women must be respected," he said, adding that hisgrandmother, mother, wife and two daughters have played astellar role in making him what he is today.
