Seven killed as van falls into valley near Mandu

Dhar (MP), Jan 12 (PTI) Seven persons, including threewomen and a girl were killed and 31 others injured when apick-up van, in which they were travelling fell into thevalley off Tarapur Ghat near Mandu, police said today.

The mishap occurred last evening when the van fell intothe valley and got stuck on a tree, police said.

The victims were returning to their village Kalapanifrom Umarban after visiting a temple, Dhar Superintendent ofPolice (SP) Rakesh Gupta told reporters.

Local people and passers-by shifted the injured personsto hospitals at Nalcha, Mandu and the Dhar district hospital,police said.

So far, the bodies of four persons -- Avantibai,Leelabai,Antubai and Varsha have been identified, police said.
