Price rise is like natural calamities; none can be blamed: DMK

Chennai, Jan 12 (PTI) Under fire from opposition over''skyrocketing'' prices of essential commodities, UPA''s leadingpartner DMK today likened the price rise to naturalcalamities, saying no body can be blamed for it.

''Whom can we blame for natural disasters like earthquakeand floods...In the same way, we cannot pin the blame onanybody in particular for the price rise situation,'''' FinanceMinister K Anbazhagan told the state Assembly.

He was responding to CPI (M) Floor Leader K Balabarathy whoaccused the UPA Government at the Centre and the DMK regime ofdoing little to control the ''''sky-rocketing'''' prices.

Opposition members alleged that the current price rise wasbeing spurred by future trading in many essential commodities.
